With what went in Sub-Zero's arcade ending, Raiden told Sub-Zero that the Lin Kuei were responsible for both the murder of his and Scorpion's families(Sub-Zero's parents in Sub-Z's case). With Sub-Zero enraged at this he'd invited Scorpion in his quest for vengence. With Cyrax and Smoke against the Cyber Inititave, they would've likely joined them, forming a 4-man Deadly Alliance
